CPQ Data Migration with ease using Gearset

Salesforce CPQ configurations are mostly data and migrating those records from one salesforce org to another is an awful job. More so when your CPQ solution evolves with time then it becomes more difficult. Fortuitously we have third party solutions available in the market to help us out.

Today we will explore Gearset data deployment for CPQ. You can try out by creating an account and the good thing is that it comes with a 1 month free trial.

1. Login into your Gearset account and goto Data Deployment tab

2. Select your source and target salesforce org. It will prompt you to Authorize your orgs first.

3. After selecting source and target orgs you can Deploy From Template. You can choose the already existing template or create your own.

4. Configure your data deployment by choosing CPQ objects you want to include in the deployment.

5.Choose “Deployment Method” like Upsert or Update only and check “Fields to use“ which is going to be used as external Id.

6. You can choose what should happen if the data migration job encounters any error.

7. Gearset has a data masking feature which can be useful in some cases.

8. Before starting the deployment “Disable CPQ Triggers” from the package settings.

9. Review summary of deployment and click “Deploy Data” to start the migration.

10. After the deployment make sure to Enable CPQ Triggers from the package settings.
